Challenge:
Leadership gaps exist within an organization, managers fail to grow along with the business, there is no succession plan.
Solution:
Re-designed the organization structure, defining 3-month, 6-month, 12-month and 18-month scenarios.
Developed a succession plan, identifying successors and development needs to enable succession for individual managers.
Established a leadership development program (see below)
Rotated managers to more appropriate positions and to provide greater breadth and depth of experience.
Recruited new management talent to address competency gaps and fill unaddressed roles.
Designing Programs to Strengthen Leadership
Challenge:
The organization needs to grow internal leadership skills to support an objective to promote individuals from within the company.
Solution:
Implemented a 360-degree assessment process, including use of Myers-Briggs, DISC and other evaluation tools.
Launched a formal mentor program, conducted quarterly leadership development workshops and provided speaking and extra leadership opportunities for high potential managers.
